Super Poderosa!
Ya que esta es la primera PocketPc con el nuevo Intel de 624Mhz,
no hay otra PDA para compararla en este momento, pero comparada
al resto, ¡esta PDA "vuela"!
¿Cuál es la PocketPc perfecta? es una pregunta que nunca tendrá
respuesta, ya que hay muchos puntos de vistas diferentes segun
su uso. Hoy día, DELL lanzó la que me parece es la mejor
PocketPc del mercado. Tiene el procesador mas rápido del
momento, slot SDIO, tamaño pequeño, Bluetooth y wi-fi y Windows
Mobile 2003 Segunda Edición. Lo único que no es muy convincente
es la apariencia. Esta nueva Axim X30 es la X3i con algunas
mejoras.

The
Design
Le di un 7 a la X30 en esta categoría. Mientras que el tamaño es
compacto, el diseño es muy genérico. Pero lo que se busca no es
un diseño futurístico, sino su funcionalidad. A diferencia de
otras PDA nuevas, esta tiene el mismo diseño de la Axim X3, por
lo que no tendremos que esperar por nuevos accesorios.
Features
Bien, no es una novedad que este modelo tenga wi-fi, pero si es
una novedad el nuevo procesador de Intel: PXA 270. Hablado en la
sección de Performance.

The screenshot on the left shows the today screen in landscape.
The middle screenshot shows the Wireless Enable box after the
Wireless button is pressed. A problem with the WiFi button is
that it enables both WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time. If you
do not want Bluetooth on, you must turn it off now. (See Right

Tools menu in the Bluetooth Manager, you can set up to send your

The left
Screenshot is the information about the Bluetooth driver
versions and such. The middle images is what you now see when
clicking the WiFi Icon in the tray. Another thing I dislike
about this new model is a revamping of the WiFi applications.
See this
link, the nice sniffer type application and
other settings are now replaced with the ones you see here. The
right images is the tools tab in the WiFi utility.

hasta llegar a la pared (a 7 metros), cambié de canal y ¡Funiconó!
Luego configuré todos los aparatos de mi casa: el equipo de
musica, el Aire Acondicionado, etc."
Built in WiFi Performance
La performance es excelente. Solo enciende el wi-fi y conéctese
en segundos. Yo detecté mi Dlink DI-624 802.11g wireless router
en un segundo. Pulsé "connect" y ya estaba navegando. No tuve
que configurar nada en la Axim. El alcance es excelente y la
velocidad es la misma que en mi PC de escritorio.
Mirá mamá, sin cables...
Conectarse a un GPS Bluetooth es algo nuevo para
muchos, pero no se preocupen, no es tan difícil.

Creo que se
puede decir que a más velocidad más consumo de batería. Hay
muchas alternativas para superar esto, como las baterías
adicionales o las de larga duración, incluso un cargador de
viajero para enchufarla al auto. De todas maneras no hay mucha
gente que se quede 5 horas por día con la PocketPc encendida.

Estabilidad
Habiendo
usado los modelos de 312 Mhz y de 624Mhz en las últimas dos
semanas, puedo decir que estoy totalmente impresionado. Le
instalé toneladas de software y siempre se mantuvieron muy
estables. No tuve que hacer ningún "soft reset" ni noté
problemas de performance. Con el Wi-Fi hay algunos detalles que
me gustaría que los arreglen en las futuras Rom Upgrades.
Valor
relativo
Dell no
decepciona con esta oferta. Wi-Fi y bluetooth integrado, Win
2003 SE y un bajo precio hacen de la X30 una ganga. Por el
momento me parece la mejor PDA y le dio un golpe fuerte a HP. El
competidor mas cercano es la iPaq 4150, solo que no tiene win
2003 SE ni el nuevo procesador y cuesta bastante más cara.
What can the
Dell Axim X30 do? Plenty. Obviously it is a great tool for
keeping organized on and off the road. Windows Mobile 2003's
built in integration with Outlook, Word, Excel and other
applications make an organized lifestyle simple. Built in WiFi
and Bluetooth afford the opportunity to get online anywhere you
are. If you do not need any of that functionality, we can use it
as a universal remote with the superb IR port. Music on the go,
the X30 can function as a good MP3 player using aftermarket
players or the included Window Media Player 9. Did I mention a
Gameboy? Games are looking nice and running smoother on the
PocketPC. Forget the expensive built in GPS in your new
Automobile. For a couple hundred extra dollars you can buy a
Bluetooth GPS, throw it in the trunk, and navigate the roadways
with ease. The possibilities are endless.
Conclusión
Es una gran
máquina. Es liviana, tiene wi-fi y bluetooth, el último OS de
Microsoft. Dolar sobre dolar, es la mejor opción... No tiene
slot compact flash, pero ya se está dejando de lado. Todos los
accesorios nuevos son en formato SD. Las nuevas herramientas del
Windows son muy útiles, como rotar la pantalla instantaneamente
o el nuevo Internet Explorer.
